COMPLIANCE & PRIVACY

Protecting

your privacy

To ensure services are provided honestly and fairly, the Compliance & Privacy Department (CPD) fulfills its mission through two key programs.

Privacy

Keeping your personal and health information safe as required by law.

Program Integrity

Making sure services are billed correctly and public funds are used the right way.

Privacy Program

Protecting your Privacy

At Kings View, your privacy and trust are our highest priorities. The Privacy Program establishes safeguards to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and security of protected health information (PHI) across all service areas. These safeguards are guided by HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, the California LPS Act (W&I §5328), the Lanterman Act, county contracts, and other applicable privacy laws.

Your Privacy Rights Include:

  • Accessing your record
  • Requesting corrections
  • Requesting confidential communications
  • Filing a complaint without retaliation

Compliance Program

The Compliance Program ensures services are delivered with integrity and fiscal accountability by preventing, detecting, and correcting:

  • Medi-Cal fraud, waste, and abuse
  • Billing errors or misuse of funds
  • Ethical or legal violations

These safeguards ensure services are delivered responsibly and in compliance with all laws and regulations, while strengthening accountability to clients, funders, and the public.
